The Sparrow Dining Stool carries the same gestural leg language as the Sparrow table — four legs drawn out in a slow, branching taper, each one hand-shaped so the grain runs the length of the movement. Seen together they read less like supports than like something grown: splayed, sinewed, quietly animal. It's a stool that holds its own in a room and disappears cleanly under the table when the meal is done.
The seat is a solid white oak ring, hand-finished and softened at every edge, cradling a domed cushion upholstered in a textured woven fabric. The upholstery sits proud of the frame, recessed into the rim so the oak frames it like a setting frames a stone. Sit down and the wood meets you at the hands; the cushion takes the weight.
Built at dining height to pair with the Sparrow table, and sculptural enough to stand alone — at the end of a bed, beside a bath, under a hall console. Made to order in our Hudson Valley workshop. Every piece is finished by hand, so no two share exactly the same figure.
Solid white oak · Rubio Monocoat finish · Upholstered seat cushion · Made to order in Stanfordville, NY.
